Love, breakup, horror, fear, sadness, happiness, closeness, separation, laughter... Not only that, short films have the amazing ability to set good and bad examples for the society. In all these things decided by the screenwriter, the director sees the beauty in the moment when they rise to the poses. That's why there is a lot of talk about the director of any film.

There is no need to tell much about the film industry of our country. Brand new movies are very rare. However, the enjoyment is also messed up because they are copied by Bollywood actors. Every now and then a movie comes out that makes sense, but it is banned with the word 'moral'. So what to do?

It is at a time like this that the Sri Lankan short film industry is coming out of the shell. If so, there is no big difference between them. The quality is not enough to compare with the short films of countries like Thailand, China and Korea, but Sri Lanka is not without good productions. The thing is, no one gives a hand to our designers.

That's why we thought to talk to Lakshan Perera, a new short film director, about his new wave of short films on Beauty TV.

ඇත්තටම හරියම පුදුමයිනේ. විනාඩි කීපයක් ඇතුලත කෙටි චිත්‍රපටයකින් ගේන හැඟීම් තොගය! ඒ විතරක් නෙවෙයි සමාජයට හොඳ, නරක ආදර්ශ දෙන්නත් කෙටි චිත්‍රපටවලට තියෙන්නෙ පුදුම හැකියාවක්. තිර රචකයා අතින් තීරණය වෙන මේ හැම දෙයකම, ඉරියව්වලට නැගෙන මොහොතෙ සුන්දරත්වය දකින්නෙ අධ්‍යක්ෂකවරයා. අන්න ඒකයි ඕනම චිත්‍රපටයක අධ්‍යක්ෂකවරයා ගැන වැඩි කතා බහක් සිද්ධ වෙන්නෙ.

අපේ රටේ චිත්‍රපට ක්ෂේත්‍රය ගැන ලොකු විස්තරයක් කියන්න ඕන නෑනෙ. බ්‍රෑන්ඩ් නිව් චිත්‍රපට බිහිවෙනව සෑහෙන්න අඩුයි. හැරත් කොපි කරන්නෙ බොලිවුඩ් ඒවයින් නිසා රස වින්දනයත් අන්තිම අවුල්. ඉඳල හිටල හරි එක තේරුමක් ඇති චිත්‍රපටයක් ආවත් ඔය ‘සදාචාර’ වචනයක් දාලා ඒක තහනම් කරනව. මොනව කරන්නද ඉතින්.

මේ වගේ කාලයක තමයි ලාංකීය කෙටි චිත්‍රපට ක්ෂේත්‍රය ඇටෙන් පොත්තෙන් එළියට එන්නෙ. එහෙමයි කියල ඒවගෙත් ලොකු වෙනසක් නම් නෑ. තායිලන්ත, චීන, කොරියාව වගේ රටවල්වල කෙටි චිත්‍රපට එක්ක සංසන්දනය කරන්න තරම් කොලිටියක් නැති වුනාට ලංකාවෙත් හොඳ නිර්මාණ නැතුවම නෙවෙයි. වැඩේ තියෙන්නෙ අපේ නිර්මාණකරුවන්ට කවුරුත් අත හිත දෙන්නෙ නෑනෙ.
